Jean Wang, MD, PhD

Teaching experience
Dr. Wang is a practicing gastroenterologist with a PhD in clinical investigation from The Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. As a faculty member at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Wang designed and taught seminars for postgraduate fellows in gastroenterology on basic study design, biostatistics and epidemiological concepts applied to clinical practice. In addition, she has been involved in the teaching of fellows, residents and medical students in the classroom as well as on the clinical wards.
 
Related research
Dr. Wang’s research focuses on the early detection and prevention of gastrointestinal malignancies such as esophageal and colorectal cancers. She is interested in public health interventions to increase cancer screening among at-risk populations as well as translational research evaluating epigenetic markers of progression in patients with premalignant conditions.
